Anti-Obama Film Set to Become Box Office Hit

By (@abcdavid) Aug. 30, 2012
It’s rare that a low-budget documentary becomes a genuine blockbuster, but conservative firebrand Dinesh D’Souza‘s controversial new film, “2016: Obama’s America,” is one of the hottest tickets at the box office right now.

“I’m overwhelmed,” D’Souza said. “This is my first venture into film territory.”

The film is now showing in more than 1,000 theaters, and that number is expected to double by Friday, which would put the movie’s release on par with a major Hollywood blockbuster. Last weekend, “2016” was already earning more money per screen than “The Bourne Legacy” and “The Expendables 2” — combined. The film has grossed an estimated $10.5 million to date, according to  Read More…

State Senate backs driver’s licenses for young illegal immigrants

August 29, 2012
The state Senate on Wednesday approved a measure allowing up to 450,000 illegal immigrants in California to get state driver’s licenses once they are awarded work permits under a new federal program providing a reprieve from deportation.

The bill would apply to people brought to the United States illegally before they were 16 who are now 30 and younger.

The state Department of Motor Vehicles has said that those accepted into a new federal program granting them two-year deferrals from deportation are eligible for licenses, but the legislation makes it clear that licenses can be issued even if the federal documentation does not meet state standards.

“The reality is they will be part of our society for two years,” said Sen. Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres). “They will be driving on our roads, whether we issue them driver’s lincenses or not.”

The Senate voted 25 to 7 to approve AB 2189 by Assemblyman Gilbert Cedillo (D-Los Angeles), and it must go back to the Assembly for approval next. Seven Republicans voted against the measure, but none spoke before the vote.

A couple of Republican senators, including Sam Blakeslee of San Luis Obispo, said they had concerns about how the federal government approved the new work permit program, but thought the state should grant licenses to those deemed by the federal government as being here properly.

Sen. Ron Calderon (D-Montebello) said the Legislature has an obligation to help young people who are allowed to attend school and work in the country.

“These kids didn’t have a choice in coming to America but each and every day they make a choice to be American,’’ Calderon said.

Building Muscles of Faith

August 27     1 Kings 18:22-36

“I wish I had great faith.” These are words that almost every Christian has said at one time or another. But faith is like a muscle, which must be exercised in order to become strong; just wishing cannot make it happen.

Christians are to believe God, not only for salvation but for everything. Rather than a spiritual “plateau,” faith is actually a process that involves increasing degrees of trust throughout life. Little faith hopes that God will do what He says; strong faith knows that He will; and great faith believes that He has already done it.

Elijah was a man of great faith. He saw increased challenges as opportunities for God to do His work—and the prophet believed Him for the supernatural. So can you. The Lord may not do every miraculous thing you ask of Him, but He does some extraordinary work in and through each person who is obedient and willing to trust in Him.

You may be thinking, I am not good enough for the Father to use me. The Scriptures are filled with examples of weak and flawed people whom the Lord used to achieve His purposes. He is looking, not for perfection, but for individuals willing to believe Him. He not only works through people of faith; He transforms them.

Start by reading God’s Word to learn what He wants you to do. Each day’s situations and needs are opportunities to trust Him. Ask the Lord to bring to mind verses that apply to your circumstances. Trust Him and do what He says—your faith “muscles” will grow, and He will be glorified.

*Action Alert: Stop Extension of Flawed Abortion Pilot Program

Urge your Senator to vote “no” on this bill!

The California Catholic Conference opposes SB 623, which would extend a previously authorized four-year UCSF pilot project of training mid-level medical practitioners (nurses, midwives) to perform first trimester abortions. The bill would also allow the time needed to complete and submit for peer review a professional report of the project.

SB 623 is a hastily concocted ‘gut and amend’ bill, designed to address the failure earlier this year of SB 1338, which would have authorized the statewide training of nurses, nurse midwives and nurse practitioners to perform first trimester abortions.  It failed, in part, because the “success” touted by the project sponsors had not been professionally reported or peer reviewed. ALERT! Tell Gov. Brown to veto AB1081, the TRUST ACT !

The Assembly has passed a final version of AB 1081 by a 48-26 vote. The TRUST Act, by Assembly Member Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco), is designed to gut the DHS’s Secure Communities program by barring police from detaining illegal aliens for ICE unless they have previous “serious or violent felony” convictions.

Some California sheriffs have indicated they may defy the state law because of their obligations under the federal Secure Communities program. Even illegal aliens with multiple drunken driving convictions or a history of domestic violence could be released rather than deported if this law takes effect.

Gov. Brown has been no friend of immigration law enforcement since he took office, but he did support Secure Communities when he was attorney general and has not indicated whether he will sign the Trust Act. Let him know that the safety of Californians requires that he veto this outrageous bill.

Tell Gov. Brown that he should oppose this effort to stop enforcement of our immigration laws. Call the Governor’s office at 916-445-2841 during business hours and express your opposition. Then send a fax or an e-mail by clicking “Go!” below.

US Commander Excuses Muslim Troop Murderers

August 27, 2012 By
Dhimmitude is the status that Islam’s Sharia law imposes on non-Muslims, making them “…subject to a number of humiliating regulations designed to enforce the Qur’an’s command that they ‘feel themselves subdued.’” Threatened with being proclaimed “enemies of Islam [and becoming] fair game as objects of violence” should they rebel against their Muslim masters, dhimmis can forever be counted on to bend a knee in “chastened subservience” to the murderous legions of Allah.

Of course, the station of dhimmitude does not necessarily have to be FORCED on non-Muslims. Today there are many who willingly—even eagerly–submit to an existence of craven servitude. Newsrooms, universities and the Democrat Party are filled with these pathetic souls. And so, unfortunately, are the upper echelons of the United States Military. Read More…

Fox News poll: Voters want Uncle Sam to ‘Leave me alone’

By   Published August 23, 2012

A Fox News poll asks which of two messages voters would send to the federal government.  A 54-percent majority would tell Uncle Sam to “leave me alone,” while 35 percent would ask Washington to “lend me a hand.”

That’s just one of the findings from the poll, released Thursday, that asks likely voters about the role of government, the Democratic and Republican tickets and the future of the nation.  Read More…

U.N. proposes tax on Americans

Money from U.S. taxpayers would go to 3rd-world countries

Published: 10 hours ago

(Washington Times) National Republican party officials on Wednesday put their party officially on record opposing United Nations‘ attempts, some backed by Democrats in Congress, to assess a special tax on Americans and give the money to Third World nations.

In a resolution, the Republican National Committee made clear its objection to “three global taxes and a global monetary governance mechanism to raise $400 billion a year to aid developing countries.”

The move also could have the practical effect of complicating the ability of the U.S. to participate in such international accords as the Law of the Sea Treaty, which the U.S. Senate has never ratified, and successor agreements to the Kyoto global-warming pact. Read More…

ICE agents sue to stop Obama amnesty

Forced by policy to violate federal law, oaths of office

Published: 22 hours ago

(WASHINGTON TIMES) Saying they’re fed up with being told they can’t do their jobs, 10 immigration agents on Thursday sued the Obama administration to try to halt the president’s new non-deportation policy and an earlier memo instructing them not to go after rank-and-file illegal immigrants.

The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Texas, adds a legal controversy to the political fight that has been brewing over President Obama’s immigration policies, which have steadily narrowed the range of immigrants the government is targeting for deportation.

The 10 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and deportation officers said Mr. Obama’s policies force them to choose between enforcing the law and being reprimanded by superiors, or listening to superiors and violating their own oaths of office and a 1996 law that requires them to put those who entered the country illegally into deportation proceedings.  Read More…

‘2016’ filmmaker: Obama driving U.S. toward vulnerability

By Troy Anderson

Driven by the alleged anti-colonialist ideology of a father he barely met, President Barack Obama systematically is undermining America economically and militarily – leaving it vulnerable to financial collapse, and even as unlikely as the possibility may seem, nuclear attack.

That’s among the claims in a politically explosive book and documentary hitting theaters nationwide this week by New York Times bestselling author Dinesh D’Souza.

The production also notes during Obama’s first term, the national debt soared from $10 trillion to $15 trillion. At this rate, the federal debt will have doubled to $20 trillion if he wins another term. Read More…

Judge preps for ‘civil war’ if Obama re-elected

‘I’m thinking worse case scenario … we’re not just talking a few riots or demonstrations’

Published: 3 hours ago

LUBBOCK (CBSDFW.COM) – A Texas leader is warning of what he calls a ‘civil war’ and possible invasion of United Nations troops if President Barack Obama is re-elected.

Lubbock County Judge Tom Head is convinced that Mr. Obama winning a second term would lead to a revolt by the American people and he’s is pushing a tax increase for the district attorney’s office and the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office. He says the money is needed to “beef up” it’s resources in case President Obama wins the November election.

In the event of civil unrest Judge Head said he’s concerned the President would hand over sovereignty of the United States to the U.N. and that the American public would react violently. Read M0re …

Illegals could reap more than $7 billion in tax credits

Loophole allows people not authorized to work to get payments – no questions asked

Published: 12 hours ago (

Fox News)

Illegal immigrants could receive more than $7 billion this year in federal tax credits, according to one estimate, thanks to a loophole in the law that allows people not authorized to work to reap the government payments with no questions asked.

Sen. Jeff Sessions’ office calculated that, based on recent trends, illegal immigrants could receive roughly $7.4 billion through a provision known as the Additional Child Tax Credit. That’s more than quadruple what the payout was four years ago, but the payments have been steadily increasing over the past decade. Read More…

CBO warns of deep recession if Congress fails to avert ‘fiscal cliff’

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on Wednesday warned the economy will enter a recession next year if the country goes over the so-called fiscal cliff.

In its most dire warning yet about the fiscal cliff, the CBO said the economy would contract by 0.5 percent in calendar year 2013 if the George W. Bush-era tax rates expire and automatic spending cuts are implemented.  More…

Jacob Rothschild, John Paulson And George Soros Are All Betting That Financial Disaster Is Coming

Are you willing to bet against three of the wealthiest men in the entire world?  Jacob Rothschild recently bet approximately 200 million dollars that the euro will go down.

Billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson made somewhere around 20 billion dollars betting against the U.S. housing market during the last financial crisis, and now he has made huge bets that the euro will go down and that the price of gold will go up.  And as I wrote about in my last article, George Soros put approximately 130 million more dollars into gold last quarter.  So will the euro plummet like a rock?  Will the price of gold absolutely soar?  Well, if a massive financial disaster does occur both of those two things are likely to happen.  More…
