The United States is threatening nations who oppose Monsanto’s genetically modified (GM) crops with military-style trade wars, according to information obtained and released by the organization WikiLeaks. Nations like France, which have moved to ban one of Monsanto’s GM corn varieties, were requested to be ‘penalized’ by the United States for opposing Monsanto and genetically modified foods. The information reveals just how deep Monsanto’s roots have penetrated key positions within the United States government, with the cables reporting that many U.S. diplomats work directly for Monsanto. Ag Reform Bill, At $969 Billion, Is A Mammoth Waste
Although our friends in the U.S. Senate routinely dismiss common sense solutions to our fiscal crisis, they have shown little resistance in considering an expensive 1,010-page farm bill.
Dubbed the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012, this $969 billion monstrosity speaks to exactly why the American people sent us to Washington: To stop the spending, waste and corruption.
Only in Washington could this bill be considered fiscally responsible. More…

Feinstein bridge over troubled water war?
by Stephen Frank on 04/12/2012 ·Senator Feinstein wants to use the government in Washington to guarantee the end of farming in California.
“By guaranteeing a minimum floor of 45 percent to farmers even during “drought” conditions, Feinstein appears possibly willing to seek the “consent of the governed” over the force and fraud typically used in California’s water wars.
A 45 percent minimum water allocation would not give either side what it totally wants. But does it offer a lasting solution or more water warring?”
Oh, when that 45% is NOT available, the water will come from your home and business—imagine a farmer with water and you unable to flush your toilet.
The real solution is more dams and eating the delta smelt. Until then, government interference will be corrupt and mismanaged. What do you think? More…
Democrat Feinstein Wants to Start a War—A North vs. South Water War
by Stephen Frank on 03/29/2012
Democrats are pacifists, except when they decide a war is good for them politically, no matter who the war harms or kills.
Senator Feinstein has decided a “good” water war is what she needs to get re-elected.
“Politicians have a way of using titles to their legislation that covers up what it is really all about. More…

In California, there is a fight to restore water to the farmers of the Central Valley.
From Across the Fence with Mark Meckler
It’s like something you would expect out of the old Soviet Union. The government has shut off water supplies to hundreds of thousands of acres, leaving farmland fallow, farm families bankrupt, and farm workers unemployed and on the government dole. Why? They claim it’s to protect a tiny, non-native fish. The reality is that it is simply eco-tyranny run amok. Environmentalists hate the farmers and want to turn the Central Valley into a desert. They care not about families, and don’t consider human beings part of the eco-system.
The local tea partiers are heavily involved in the issue and have been since the beginning. The Central Valley Tea Party is here. The North Valley Tea Party is here. Both are working hard on this issue (and many others.)
Rep. Devin Nunes has sponsored HR-1837 which provides appropriate environmental protections, while also protecting the people who produce our food. Here’s his resource page on the bill. There’s also a link there to an episode on the Hannity show. He’s been following this issue for quite some time.
Ignorance of Delta bodes ill for state’s water
Most Californians aren’t aware of the role the San Joaquin-Sacramento Delta plays in the state’s water supply.
In fact, most Californians don’t even know what the San Joaquin-Sacramento Delta is, according to poll results released by California public opinion research firm Probolsky Research at the Southern California Water Committee’s quarterly meeting this week. The pollsters found that 78 percent of people in California don’t know anything about the Delta. The percentage is 86 percent in Southern California, the state’s most populous region.
That is truly scary, because that means most people don’t know where their water comes from. They also aren’t aware that the Delta is one of the most ecologically fragile and vital features of California. And obviously they aren’t aware of the need to protect that key resource, both for the state’s water supply and its environmental health. More…
When nature adapts: Pests thriving on Monsanto GMO corn
While controversy and opinions continue to swirl around the hot-button topic of genetically modified produce, a new report from biotech firm Monsanto sounds like the premise of a Stephen King story. According to RT.com, pests known as the western corn rootworm have not only been surviving but thriving on corn genetically modified to kill the bugs. More…
